An eight-storey building on El Shorbagi Street in El Gomrok collapsed minutes after the authorities had moved its residents out, with the district’s officials on site.
A district source said the building had a demolition order, which the residents appealed, then an order to remove four storeys and restore it, which was not carried out. Youm7 reported no victims; Al-Dostor reported the same day that the body of a young man was recovered from the rubble.
